Balance & Core Strength
BUILD YOUR FOUNDATION FIRST.
LEARN HOW TO STRENGTHEN YOUR CORE TO MOVE BETTER.
When your core muscles are strong, they help you keep your body aligned at the hip, knee, and ankle to stay balanced and injury-free. If they are not, come poor posture and the dreaded lower back pain. If you’re spending time seated in front of a computer or doing repetitive movements, you know exactly what we’re talking about. Equally, if your core muscles are weak and you’re practicing sports like martial arts, boxing, basketball, soccer, rugby, ice hockey, or even non-contact sports like surfing or gymnastics, you’re more likely to fall and potentially injure yourself. That’s why developing a strong core is so important. The core encompasses the muscles in your abdomen, pelvic floor, back, and hips. These muscles work in synergy to provide stability, and balance and protect your spine. There are various ways that can supercharge your progress and safely strengthen your core muscles. Depending on your experience level, you can use a balance cushion, a dome balance trainer, or a wobble board. A balance cushion (like the TRNR Balance Disc) is a good starting point for beginners, whereas a wobble board (TRNR Balance Board) usually requires greater stability and is therefore recommended to advanced users unless using the support of someone or a wall during exercises. A dome balance trainer is a versatile piece of equipment as it can be turned upside down to take your workout to the next level, making it suitable for all users.
